For people like me in their 40s, 50s, or even 60s
I know you constantly hear:
“Take risks when you are young.
20s and 30s are the best time to take the risk that could fundamentally change or alter the final outcome of your life.”
Then after reading such things, you get sad wondering if your life is over
It appears these young ones have written you off
But the good news is that your life is just beginning
Haven’t you heard that life begins at 40
Age is just a number, but knowledge, experience, wisdom and maturity aren’t
I know some of the young ones argue that wisdom doesn’t come with age
That’s true but neither is success age-restricted
Refuse to allow anyone to tell you it is over when the whistle hasn’t blown yet
All you have been doing in these past decades of your life is your competitive advantage
It is time to put them to use
Let me not bore you with Colonel Sanders so you will not think I am a motivational speaker.
But look at Donald Trump, twice becoming president of the world’s most powerful country after 70 years of age
He rode on the wings of all he’s been doing all his life to beat the younger ones to become America’s president twice.
While you aren’t aiming for the presidency, you can use the results of your years of living and labour to create a presidential life for you and your loved ones
It is not too late to start living the life of your dreams.
Your best years are not behind, they are still ahead.
